served with a lunch. After which will be visiting the famous Alchi Gompa built in the 11th century by the great Tibetan translator Rinchen Zangpo. The monastery is also famous for known for its fresco paintings throughout Ladakh and some of the paintings has been able to wake up UNESCO.
Day 04: Alchi to Biama
The next morning after b/f, drive to Biama 90 km away from Alchi. We stop at Skyurbuchan for lunch and also visit a beautiful monastery there. After reaching Biama, another hour’s drive from the Skyurbuchan check in to Aryan valley fixed camp. In the late afternoon visit Dah village and its Gompa. Here you will be able to see one of the most unique tribe and interact with them. During the night a culture show and a camp fire will be arranged.
Day 05: Departure to Kargil
After b/f drive to Kargil. Break for lunch at Lamayuru at one of the restaurants there. After the lunch a visit to the famous Lamayuru Monastery. Drive further to Kargil and check in a hotel there.
Day 06: Kargil to Rangdum
Early morning after b/f drive to Rangdum, this is exactly a half way to Zansker. The days drive will be quite tough as there is no paved road to Zanskar. But the whole drive is beautiful as it gives you the opportunity to see beautiful mountains with glaciers. Over night in fixed camp.
Day 07: Rangdum to Zanskar
After the morning b/f we are off to see one of the most amazing valley, full of scenic beauty, the Zanskar. On the way, you will pass through enchanting valley with snow capped mountains and glaciers. Including all the stoppage time it will take around 8-hours to arrive Zanskar. On arrival, check in to hotel.
Day 08: Zankar (Day 01), Local Sightseeing
We start with the visits of lower Zanskar. Drive along the Zanskar river for about 35 km and visit the beautiful monastery of Tongdey (the second largest Gelukpa gonpa), Zangla nunnery, the only remaining royal palace in Zanskar. |
